Dog House Saturday!

We (and by "we" I mean Robert and Adam) are building a dog house for the pups...a dog mansion really.  It has an 8'x8' footprint, which is huge for a dog house, but hey, we have 4 dogs!

The lovely canine residence will feature a fully insulated frame (R-30 insulation), siding, shingles with ice and water shield, gutters and a front porch.

Construction began today...

That's it for today!  The guys made great progress.  I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Josie's 3rd Birthday

Our little niece Josie turned three this past weekend, so we drove to my brother's house in Ellington, MO for her party.  That little chicken-nugget is growing up fast!

We stayed the night on Saturday with Steve and Heather.  The next day Steve taught our nephew, Brendan, how to shoot a rifle. Brendan thought that was great!  He listened to Steve and did really well hitting the target.

We'll make a country-boy outta this kid yet. Uh huh!

When they broke out the really loud guns, I went inside to play with this lil' pumpkin.  Isn't he sweet?

Good times, good times...

Heartbeat - 13 Weeks

Robert and I went to my monthly checkup today and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time!  It was soooo amazing.  It's the best sound I've ever heard in my whole entire life!

Baby Brown's little ticker is going at a rate of 154 beats per minute.  If the old wives tales were true, that would mean it's a girl.

I've actually read a bit about that and in the last month of pregnancy the heartbeat can help determine gender, but not this early on.

Hell, by that time we will already know!

I guess that was useful back in the day. My mom said that her doctor was able to predict right for both me and my brother based on our heart rates.  Verrrry interesting...

At 13 weeks, Baby Brown is the size of a peach!

27 more weeks to go!
