Bentonville Baby Shower

This past weekend was another baby shower weekend and it was super fun!  On Friday I drove to Kansas City and back in order to pick up my grandmother (mom's mom), so she could attend the baby shower.

While I was in KC, I met up with my dad, step-mom Joan, my other grandmother (dad's mom), my brother Chris, sister Nicki, nephew Luke, and brother-in-law Kris, for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.

My sister, Nicki, is also pregnant with a baby girl and is due May 2.  I was so glad that she had not gone into labor early so that we could get some photos together of us carrying our girls!

(Note: We didn't plan on wearing black, that was just a coincidence.)

After lunch I picked up my other grandmother and we headed back home to Bentonville.  It was a long day of driving for me, but it sure was fun to see my family since they weren't able to come down for the shower.  I'm a week past being allowed to travel so this has to be the last trip I take until after July.

The following day my mom, my brother, Steve, and his wife, Heather, along with their two babies, Josie and Forrest, came to town.

Sunday was the shower and it was really fun and beautifully put together.  It was thrown by Robert's sister, Courtney, step-mom, Sharon, and our soon-to-be sister in law, Chelsea.  They really put a lot of work into it and it meant so much to me.

Here's a pic of Courtney, me and Chelsea:

The happy parents:

I look taller than Robert here, because I was wearing heels!  I thought I needed them with my dress, however, that will be the last time I do that before this baby arrives.

Kylie got a bunch of really sweet little outfits and keepsake memorabilia, including her first Bible with her name engraved on the front of it.  After this weekend, we have a bunch more pieces in place of the stuff we will need when she is born.

I honestly don't know how people prepare for a baby without such wonderful family and friends around to each help out a little bit.  Babies require so much stuff!  I had no idea just how much.

It's amazing to experience such excitement about Kylie and the generosity that everyone has shown us.  We are truly blessed and Baby Kylie is being born into a family and network of friends that love her so much already.  What a lucky little girl!

A huge THANK YOU again to Courtney, Chelsea and Sharon for the wonderful shower and many, many thanks to the friends and family who celebrated with us on Sunday.  We love you guys!
